    Carla,

I have no information other than that which is in the article. I would suggest a Google search to unveil any other details.

  4. Rev. Willie Glaster Says:

Recent letter I received did not have a church telephone number listed. Chairperson of Pulpit Search Committee did not give a telephone number in his reply letter. Google search listed another Kingdom Baptist Church in Chicago, IL, which is not the same address or zipcode. Telephone Directory attempts failed.

  5. Charles Hawkins Says:

I recently received a letter indicating to submit personal information in order to conduct a background check. However, I am not quick to give out such pertinent information without confirming who you are. Please contact by way of conversation if possible. Your deadline to submit is May 30 and if I get the postal stamp before or after will you still accept the request.

    Thank you so kindly

    Charles

  6. Dr. John Says:

It appears that I received the same letter as Rev Glaster. However, this letter came with a new twist for me. Though I believe churches should run a check on prospective pastors and employees, for them to charge $150 to each candidate is a new one on me. If o5thers got the same letter, I have to wonder what is going on.

  7. Not Affiliated Says:

Please be advised that Kingdom Baptist Church located at 301 N. Central Avenue, Chicago, IL is not in any way connected to the church which is seeking a Pastor. We have received numerous calls, faxes, and letters from candidates regarding the open position. It is very strange that no phone number is given on the letter to the candidates, which explains why candidates are calling information to get a number in Chicago. Also when I called information, I was told that there was no listing for a church at the address provided on the letter (1801 W. 95th St.

To the people named on the Pastoral Search Letter:
Sharon Streeter: Secretary, Pastoral Search Committe,
Yashun Solomon: Chairman, and David Vitter: Co-Chairman,
Please put your phone number on the letter to avoid further confusion.

  8. Rev. B. J. Sims, Jr. Says:

I too have recived a very suspicous letter requesting my personal information. I have not applied for any position outside of Georgia. I concerned about how my name and address was passed on for consideration for pastor. Why was there no contact number listed?

  9. Vernon Says:

Has anyone found out whether this is real or not it sounds very suspicous

  10. Not Affiliated Says:

From the letter that was forwarded to me, this is the address listed:

    Chicago, IL 60643
(No phone number is given - or listed through information)

    The letter is signed by
Sharon Streeter, Secretary, Pastoral Search Committee
CC: Yashun Solomon: Chairman - David Vitter: Co-Chairman

  11. david vitter Says:

we regret the negative thought about our church but we needed to protect our congregation.we’re not taking anymore resume the process has been closed.

  12. Rev. Edmonson Says:

I also received the same letter, but I did get a phone call after forwarding A dvd and cd of sermons. I talked to the Chicago Police and have made them aware of this fraud, AS WELL AS GIVEN THE NAMES OF THE PERPS. I SUGGEST YOU DO THE SAME

  13. Rev joseph meeks Says:

I have been to Kingdom Baptist Church to interview on May 23, 2008.

  14. Mary Says:

Rev. Edmonson when you got the phone call did they call you in for an interview?
Or was this call from the police?

  15. Rev. Blair Says:

I also received the same letter. My came while I was vacationing in Chicago, in fact, less than a mile away from this church. I did not open my letter until June 5, 2009. While I cannot give witness to the legitimacy of the letter I can vouch for the church. I have visited there several times in the past as the musician for my uncle Rev. B. T. Smith of the Christian Love M.B.C. on Chicago’s westside. I wish them well and Godspeed.

  16. Mary Says:

Rev. Blair what is the exact location of the church? The lack of information on the location is the question on everyone’s mind. Help! Help!

  17. Preacher Says:

Someone help me..I just received a letter from the church, but I did get a call last week indicating I would recieve one in the mail………Somone call me or email me back indicating the status of the church……I hope the Rev. who interviewed with the would respond.

  18. preacher Says:

    Rev. Blair,

Who is Rev. Peacock of Christain Love Church
of Chicago. Located on Mich. Ave.

  19. Duane Says:

Whomever is responsible for this foolish should not be over anybody’s committee. This should be handle in the most orderly fashion, however anything that is disorderly is not worth looking into. In addition, is this the way God wants His church to conduct business when searching for the man of God. Typical embrassment of how so call people on important committees within various churches take care of God’s business. I pray to God that this is just a slight error that will not cause a perception problem for this particular church. Nonetheless, please whomever is undertaking the affairs of the church be aware of the spiritual responsibility that comes along with selecting a shepherd of God’s divine church. And please do it decent and in order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And whatever you do please do not take this message personal. I say this in the spirit of meekness and love.

  20. Holly Boy Says:

KNOw SOmebody tell me why this address is the same as the address to send all correspondence too. Furthermore Rev Wright or someone remove this from the site but not before Iwas able to retrieve it. lol
    What’s really happening

    Reverend Michael Wright

  21. Preacher Says:

Has anybody sent them the $150.00 for the background check yet? What did they say after they got the money. I know here inmy county you can get the applicant to get one and it is MUCH LESS than that.

  22. Duane Says:

By the way I never was inform to include any money for a background check. I just received the letter indicating to provide my social security number and other pertinent information, but they never asked for any money. Thank God my information was forwarded back to my address because I wrote 1801 instead of 1803 for the address. Brother preachers be wise as a serpent during this process if you will.

  23. Inquring Minds Says:

I have filed a mail fraud report with the US Postal Inspector and would advise all to do so who have sent money. I also have a copy of the resume of a certain Michael Wright who uses the same address, telephone that called me and will be forwarding that to the authorities as well. There is an email address listed on it.

  24. PastorMac Says:

I received the letter requesting personal information back in the mail as undeliverable at that address, and that the fowarding time had expired. I mailed my notarized letter back in more than enough time to meet the deadline. The fact that I have my info back without anyone from the church looking at it lets me know I’m blessed. After reading all the commments above, its clear that this church is not worth my time, in that I think I’m too far a way for an interview. Let me say in defense of the church, it deeply disturbing that servants of the most high God have to be subjected to such indigities because the church leadership as a whole lacks spiritual discernment, and the wisdom and patience that it takes to provide flock with a leader after God’s own heart. Each day the bibles information about these days and times become more and more true. I thank God that I googled Yahsun Solomon and found this site, now I can shred this records release authorization with a clear conscience..

  25. preacher Says:

I have spoken to the chicago police and they informed me that they have a detective already on this case, they took my information and said they already have leads to who is responsible for this. So I suggest you call and inform them that they did this to you also. The sad part is whoever it is will be charged with felony fraud

  26. Pastor Jones Says:

Who do I need to talk to at the Chicago Police Station?
    What is the detective name?

    Thanks

  27. Pastor S. Says:

On the hills of Pastor Jones, who do I need to talk to at the Chicago Police station?

  28. Rev Says:

I too was contacted regarding the pastor position and I sent them the requested $150.00, I spoke with a Dr.Solomon, he said they didn’t accept money orders so I sent them a bank check, he told me they would send me back the $150.00 and did not, I did and inquiry and found out that they had cashed the money orders and it was signed Michael Wright, I too would like the information of the detective at the chicago Station, I am out $300.00 but God does not ugly and will provide swift payment for those defrauding his people

  29. Pastor K Jones Says:

To all my brothers ansd sisters I too recieved the letter requesting personal information. I called information and I used google eath. The adress is to a different Kingdom church that is not looking for a pastor. I’m so thankful I did’nt send my information. We should all look out for each other and stay in prayer that God will send us to the church He wants us at in this season!!!!

  30. Preacher Says:

Somebody please post the chicago police department phone number and contact person
to call and report this fraud.

  31. Beware! Says:

The address that is listed is a Post Office Box. Notice the letters (PMB 171) after the address. Do not send any information to that address. I’ve called neighboring businesses and they say that there is no church at that address.

  32. djones Says:

I cannot believe what I’ve just read and that this man is not caught YET. This is a scam by Rev. Michael Wright who listed himself as a Chairperson in the fraud letter. He was probably comfortable using the name Kingdom as a ploy for this because that was the name of his church at 5413 S. Halsted (Kingdom Ministries). Yes, he has pastored people…using his title to get business and trust and then cons for money. Yashun Solomon is his alias name. Please do an online docket search with the cook county clerks office and you will see all of the fraudulent cases against him for large monetary suits. I can tell you that the $150 was to get everyone’s money. This is only a peep of his profile…BEWARE!

  33. Myrna Says:
